Projects Accounts and ICT Officer
Nakuru based with regular field visits to Nyandarua, Nyeri, Laikipia
One (1) year renewable contract
The post holder reports directly to the Executive Director;

In collaboration with the SCODE team members, the post holder will ensure good management of projects information, adherence to internal controls, quality reporting and compliance to donor requirements and timelines. 
The post holder will provide timely and reliable data and information analysis that leads to effective decision making

Key Responsibilities
 
Accounting responsibilities
  • Manage petty cash and monitor balance levels for timely replenishment
  • Verification of requests upon receipt for completeness and accuracy and processing of payments
  • Inventory/stock management of office consumables and organise re-order
  • Monitor cab and bikes usage, ensuring  proper log books and mileage reports are updated and analyze its monthly spending reports
ICT Responsibilities
  • Maintain, and update as necessary, all hardware and software configurations plus database to ensure optimum operations in all departments.
  • Backup all data regularly and ensure the network and emails are secure against viruses etc.
  • Support in developing and maintaining a programme’s client database in Access.
  • Assist in the procurement of new hardware and software and draw up technical specification of ICT equipment to be procured.
  • Support to regular servicing of the computers.
  • Upgrade website by assisting with updating content and graphics; monitoring analytics; identifying new creative ways to showcase data online and increasing website traffic and engaged users; introducing new technology; maintaining links
  • Revitalizing the information architecture of various online platforms as needed and linking external resources to the Center’s website.
  • Update and refresh new website (currently being designed by an external team) as needed by updating and installing new modules; ensuring cross-platform compatibility; establishing links.
  • Develop new ways to visualize and showcase our data focusing on new innovations in online communication (such as info-graphics, interactive web tools, blogging, and social media) to improve content presentation, access, use and feedback.
  • Code graphic design projects into e-newsletter and new web blast templates. Provide weekly website analytics by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends and then optimize and generate ideas to increase traffic through the site.
  • Manage links that enable users to share documents with friends and colleagues.
  • Manage and ensure an easy-to-use content management system for the website, be able to adjust CMS framework as needed by the team.
  • Develop online web-friendly fundraising tools and work with the fundraising team to develop new ways to improve this functionality.
  • Develop apps for smart phone and tablet technologies.
  • Implement and maintain website enhancements, security/privacy policies, user accounts, access rights, passwords, etc.
  • Recommend and apply user experience approaches based upon the latest interactive trends and best practices in the industry.
  • Any other task that may be delegated to you from time to time.

Required Qualifications 
  • University degree in Information Technology / Computer Science.
  • CPA Section 2
  • Working knowledge of computer packages MS Office with particular emphasis on MS Access & Excel.
  • At least 1 year’s relevant hands on experience.
  • Ability to work in a team and with minimum supervision
