We are growing quickly. In six years, we have grown to serve over 100,000 farm families with more than 1,000 full-time field staff in Kenya.

Job Description

We are looking for an extremely organised, passionate and capable individual to help expand our Nairobi operations as One Acre Fund grows.

The Corporate Assistant will be responsible for assisting in administration, organization, and maintenance of the growing One Acre Fund Nairobi office.  
He or she will also take charge of helping in managing a One Acre Fund apartment in Nairobi and will help oversee the hosting of important visitors who temporarily stay in this apartment. 

Initial tasks will include helping design and implementation of many administrative systems to facilitate the smooth operation of the Nairobi office and overseeing a move to a new office space.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • At least 1 year leadership experience
  • Experience with finance and accounts
  • Highly skilled with computer software, particularly Microsoft Office (including Excel)
  • Strong ability to work within deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise – You will be managing several projects at once and must be able to complete them in order of priority.
  • Attention to detail – One Acre Fund has exceptionally high standards and all projects must be completed to a very detailed level.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Excellent communication and high level of professionalism.
  • Excellent attitude, willingness to learn and work hard, humility
  • Must live or be willing to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Leadership experience –You will be part of a team, and we are looking for someone who has great leadership qualities
  • Experience in business, entrepreneurship or NGO administration
  • Procurement experience

Education Qualification

A bachelor’s degree or Diploma in the relevant field of study.

Areas of Responsibility

Accommodation and property management – Together with the Office Administrator you will ensure that all visitors to Nairobi have appropriate accommodation in One Acre Fund’s Nairobi apartment or elsewhere, and finding new office and apartment rental options for our expanding team.  You will also be responsible for ensuring that documentation is legal and current.

Property Management and Infrastructure – Together with the office Administrator, ensuring our office and apartment in Nairobi are  well maintained, organized, and clean.You will be responsible for ensuring that both the Nairobi office and apartment are well stocked at all times as well as making any necessary improvements.
Organization and Efficiency – Maintain office services and efficiency by helping in planning and implementing office systems and layouts and welcoming visitors to the Nairobi office.
Expense and finance management – You will be responsible for Filling and submitting payment requests for all One Acre Fund’s regular property bills.
Office tasks – You will be responsible for handling the mail for the office and also retrieval of parcels from the post office and any other daily tasks that may arise.

Administrative Tasks – You will be assisting with administrative tasks in the Nairobi office, including printing, faxing, filling, and general organisation.
