Qualifications:

  1. Minimum O-level certificate
  2. Certificate of good conduct
  3. Valid driving license and PSV
  4. Minimum of four years driving experience
  5. possession of basic mechanical knowledge Suitability Test Certificate will be an added advantage
  6. Good communication skills. Fluent in English.

Job Functions:

  1. Drive taxicabs, limousines or company cars to transport passengers
  2. Pick up passengers at prearranged locations, at taxi stands, or in streets in high traffic areas
  3. Arrange to pick up particular customers or groups on a regular schedule
  4. Ensure that all riders, including the driver, wear a seat belt at all times
  5. Record name, date, and taxi identification information on trip sheets, along with trip information such as time and place of pickup and drop-off, and total fee.
  6. Confirm fares based on trip distances and times, using taximeters and fee schedules, and communicate fares to passengers
  7. Collect fares or vouchers from passengers and give change or issue receipts as necessary.
  8. Test vehicle equipment such as lights, brakes, horns, or wipers, to ensure proper operation.
  9. Perform minor vehicle maintenance such as cleaning, or take vehicles to mechanics for servicing and/or repair.
  10. Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, and water.
  11. Complete accident reports when necessary.
  12. Communicate with dispatchers by radio, telephone, or computer to exchange information and receive requests for passenger service.
  13. Observe all traffic and highway rules
