Procurement Officer, Depot Manager and HR Assistant at New KCC

New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited is the leading Dairy Company in the Country re-known for its world class brands that include KCC Butter, Ghee, Gold Crown, Safariland and Mala among others. 
We are seeking to recruit dynamic and result driven persons to fill the following vacancies:-
 
1. Procurement Officer 
2 Positions
Ref: HR/PO/01/09/2013
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Procurement. 
The Procurement Officer will follow up on the procurement of quality goods and services at competitive prices.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitating the procurement of goods, works and services for the company
  • Prepare requests for proposals
  • Preparation and following up of tender documents in liaison with user department
  • Prepare letters of invitation to bidders to attend tender openings
  • Facilitate tender opening and tender evaluation sessions
  • Maintain a database of pre-qualified suppliers
  • Review contracts and liaise with the legal department on preparing service level agreements based on tender requisitions.
  • Offer Secretarial Services to Procurement Committee .Must have exposure / experience in clearing and forwarding. (This requirement is for one post)
The Candidates Specifications
The candidate must possess the following qualifications
  • A University degree in Purchasing and Supplies or its equivalent
  • Must be familiar with the Public Procurement and Disposals Act, 2005
  • Have at least 3 – 4years’ proven and significant work experience in a Procurement department within a large organization preferably in a FMCG company.

Essential Skills
  • Proficient with standard office computer applications, experience in use of SAP will be an added advantage
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic supervisory skills
2. Depot Manager
Ref: HR/DM/02/09/2013
 
Job Purpose
The Depot Manager will be Reporting to the Stores Manager. 
He/She will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient administration of the operations at the depot.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration of the Depot.
  • Liaising with the Regional Sales Manager on ordering of stocks for the depot.
  • Managing stock levels and making key decisions on stock control.
  • Ensuring availability of all company range of products as well as supplies at the depot (e.g. stationery) at all times.
  • Managing and reconciling the inventories.
  • Ensuring standards for quality, health and safety are met at the depot at all times.
  • Monitoring the movement of crates and containers and overseeing there cleanliness and handling to reduce breakages.
  • Accounting for crates
  • Managing the staff at the depot including performance appraisal
  • Managing of depot resources (vehicles, crates and staff).
  • Writing of reports (stocks reconciliations, staff establishment reports, stocks expiries reports and motor vehicles usage reports).

The Candidate Specifications:
The candidate must possess the following qualifications:-
  • Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized university.
  • C.P.A /C.I.P.S/Materials Management/Stores and Logistics Management or its equivalents
  • At least 4 years’ experience in supervising a unit at a middle management level
Essential Skills
  • Must be proficient with SAP/ERP System
  • Must be proficient with office computer applications
  • Time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
3. Human Resource Assistant
Ref: HR/HRA/03/09/2013
 
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Manager Human Resource and Administration, the Human Resource Assistant will provide support to HR Officers to ensure effective and efficient human resources operations.
 
Key responsibilities
  • Performance Management and Reward including performance contracting
  • Staff Pension Scheme Administration
  • Assist in Employee Resourcing
  • Payroll Administration
  • Managing and updating the staff records through ERP/HCM Module.
  • Providing assistant in staff entry and exit processes
The Candidate Specifications:
The candidate must possess the following qualifications:-
  • A University degree in Human Resource Management or business related field
  • Post graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Have at least 2 – 3years’ proven and significant work experience in a Human Resource department within a large organization preferably in a FMCG company.
Essential Skills
  • Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills, demonstrated by ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Has experience in a computerized HR Management Information System – working knowledge of SAP HR Module will be an added advantage
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with unusual abilities in report writing skills.
  • Pleasant, results oriented, hardworking, persuasive individual with excellent inter-personal skills
  • Ability to think strategically, and effectively present ideas in an organized manner.
