Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) is a Global NGO in Kenya working in collaboration with the IMPACT Research and Development (IRDO) and Ministry of Health to provide Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) activities in Nairobi County. 
Founded in 1928 and rooted in the healing ministry of Jesus, CMMB works collaboratively to provide quality healthcare programs and services, without discrimination, to people in need around the world. 
CMMB is seeking to recruit staffs that will support the implementation of the activities of Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) in Nairobi County

Clinician / Lead Surgeon
 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership to the team in terms of meeting the target.
  • Immediate liaison person with the DHMT in VMMC services within the District or Sub County.
  • Ensures safety, custody and functionality of CMMB equipment and other assets within the site.
  • Ensures screening is done for VMMC clients before surgery as recommended by the guidelines.
  • Provides surgical procedures to eligible VMMC clients.
  • Ensure proper treatment of STI for VMMC clients and follow up as recommended by guidelines.
  • Ensure VMMC clients are done post op follow up
  • Ensures that all VMMC adverse events are well managed and reported.
  • Ensures that VMMC data is captured accurate and reported consistently to the MOH and entered in the data base.
  • Ensure daily summaries are reported to the relevant officers.
  • Over sees mobilization activities within the catchment area.
  • Responsible for rational use of Company’s assets and resources including vehicles.
  • Ensures proper storage, quantification and safety of VMMC supplies within the sites.
  • Submit monthly program reports to the program manager.
  • Provide leadership in professional development of staffs within the site.
Key Qualifications:
  • Diploma holder in Clinical Medicine.
  • Must be registered with Council of clinical officers.
  • Past experience in Male circumcision program an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must exhibit flexibility in time management and be able to work for longer hours to beat tight deadlines
  • Basic knowledge on Computer mandatory.
Assistant Surgeon
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Perform preoperative and post-operative management of VMMC clients.
  • Provide supervision to the Infection control officer.
  • Ensures safety, custody and functionality of CMMB equipment and other assets within the site.
  • Ensure availability of VMMC supplies and proper inventory management of the same within the site.
  • Assist or Perform surgical procedures to eligible VMMC clients.
  • Ensure VMMC clients are done post op follow up and documented.
  • Ensures that all VMMC adverse events are well managed and reported.
  • Ensures that VMMC data is captured accurate and reported consistently to the MOH and entered in the data base.
  • Ensures proper storage, quantification and safety of VMMC supplies within the sites
  • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor
Key Qualifications:
  • Diploma holder in Nursing/ Clinical Medicine.
  • Must be registered with relevant professional body of Kenya.
  • Must exhibit flexibility in time management and be able to work for longer hours to beat tight deadlines
  • Past experience in Male circumcision program is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge on Computer mandatory.
VMMC Counselor
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Facilitate client registration.
  • Provide Education to the clients.
  • Provide HIV testing to clients opting for HIV test.
  • Provide information on consenting for VMMC procedures
  • Correctly quantify, request and report HIV test kit consumption using CDRR.
  • Ensure proper storage of HIV test Kits.
  • Ensure daily and monthly summaries are done.
  • Participate in proficiency testing.
  • Ensure client confidentially is kept.
  • Ensure client referral is done as recommended and as necessary.
  • Ensure PITC data is accurately captured and reported to MOH and CMMB
  • Any other duty or responsibility assigned by the immediate supervisor or management.
  • Work with Data officers to ensure all the M&E tools are available in the site
Key Qualifications:
  • Diploma in HTC /PITC Counseling certified by NASCOP.
  • Trained or previous experience in MC program an added advantage
  • Must exhibit flexibility in time management and be able to work for longer hours to beat tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge in computer.
Infection Prevention Officer
 
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Reports to the VMMC nurse.
  • Ensure theatre cleaning schedule is kept.
  • De-contaminate surgical instruments
  • Operate sterilization equipment safely.
  • Sterilize surgical instruments and linen.
  • Manage waste disposal.
  • Ensure Equipments are maintained and routinely serviced
  • Any other duty allocated by the immediate supervisor.
Key Qualifications:
  • Must be KCSE certificate holder.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
  • Must exhibit flexibility in time management and be able to work for longer hours to beat tight deadlines
  • Trained in VMMC infection control.
Community Lead Mobilizer
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Mobilize and refer at least 5 clients per day for MC surgical procedures.
  • Coordinate mobilization activities within designated Districts.
  • Ensure work plans for associate mobilizers are done and implemented.
  • Ensure that associate mobilizers are meeting their targets.
  • Ensure supply and dissemination of VMMC educational materials.
  • Ensure client referral linkages are working.
  • Provide daily reports and summaries of clients mobilized, referred and circumcised.
  • Identify work places for services providers within the designated area.
  • Identify other mobilization strategies that are innovative.
  • Liaise with CHEWS in implementation of community strategy.
  • Participate in review meetings with CHEWS.
  • Any other duty that may be allocated by the immediate supervisor or Management.

Key Qualifications:
  • Must have a post secondary training/qualification.
  • Experience with MC program added advantage.
  • Must be fluent in English, Kiswahili and other local languages.
  • Must exhibit flexibility in time management and be able to work for longer hours to beat tight deadlines
  • Must possess a Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good understanding of community dynamics. Knowledge and familiarity with low-income urban areas of Nairobi will be an added advantage.
  • Must be a resident of Nairobi county and understands the geography well
Data Officer
 
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Manage the file flow from the filling area to the surgeon/assistants and ensure proper filling of all client folders in the facilities.
  • Manage the supply and stock control of all the M&E tools in the facilities for continuity of supply.
  • Ensure the completeness of the client forms and the consistency of the information recorded in these forms and flag the forms identified to have errors.
  • Ensure security of client data both at the facility level and within the database
  • Coordinate with the surgeon and surgeon assistant to ensure that the patient forms are correctly filled and records are of quality.
  • Conduct daily data entry of all the client details from the forms to the database
  • Conduct daily data cleaning so as to ensure data quality in the database
  • Do daily/weekly/monthly data summary and forward to the Program Manager and the M&E Officer
  • Assist the program Manager and the M&E manager in doing the periodic DQA
  • Conduct periodic analysis of the client data and share with the team for use in planning.
  • Mentor the facility staffs and the VMMC teams in the VMMC data capture, data summary and reporting.
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor
Key Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Statistics/Health Records/Information Technology/Monitoring and Evaluation from a recognized institution.
  • Database design and maintenance experience most preferably in Ms Access and MySQL
  • Data analysis proficiency in at least 2 applications; SPSS/STATA
  • Strong electronic organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure and deadlines
  • Must exhibit flexibility in time management and be able to work for longer hours to beat tight deadlines
  • Prior experience in management of VMMC database and reporting in KePMS will be an added advantage.
  • Must be a team player
Finance Officer
 
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Receive cash and cheques paid in the name of CMMB Kenya
  • Pay out cash and cheques to the right beneficiaries and against properly signed vouchers in the field
  • Examine all requisition requests and ensure they are as per budget before issuing advance payments.
  • Liquidate all the employee advances and ensure that balances are promptly banked.
  • File properly stamped and signed duplicate banking slip from the bank to whom cheques and cash are deposited
  • Examine every payment schedule received to ascertain that it is genuine and accurate
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly donor reports by ensuring all the transactions are timely availed for reporting
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of manual records for the advances paid and the expense forms submitted by field staff.
  • Ensure timely and accurate supply of information on financial matters for management decision making;
  • Secure supporting documents or authority to back all expenditure vouchers
  • Secure appropriate signatures on all vouchers
  • File all accounting vouchers properly, and keep safe custody.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Key Qualifications:
  • Should be a at least a CPA II, A Bcom degree in accounting or Finance is an added advantage
  • Must be Computer literate specifically spreadsheets
  • Minimum of 1 year as an accountant in the Not for Profit sector or commercial sector
  • Must exhibit flexibility in time management and be able to work for longer hours to beat tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of modern accounting, office filing system;
  • Initiative and self-motivation; planning, scheduling and organizing skills
  • Should have 2 years driving experience with a clean driving license
Procurement and Logistic Officer
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate and oversee clearance of goods from overseas and locally, distribution and recording of the same.
  • Work with the core departments to ensure close integration of logistics planning in field operations, including input to donor reports and review of the logistic component of proposals.
  • Coordinate transport arrangements for staff during the day.
  • Routine provision of logistic support to various programs of the organization
  • Define logistics strategy within the Organization policies and procedures and ensure effective integration of logistics operations.
  • Inform the personnel of procurement procedures and regulations; maintains purchasing records
  • Contact vendors or agency representatives to obtain availability and product information or to solicit bids, develop requests for quotations and confer with vendors concerning new products, damaged goods, delayed payments or related information.
  • Ensure adequate logistics preparedness through contingency planning and continuous logistics preparedness reviews
  • Manage organization’s field fleet security arrangements and coordinate any evacuations
  • Occasionally visit field offices to audit procurement and logistic processes and provide advice and training as required including cost allocation of mileages
  • To monitor operation of the organization vehicles.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Key Qualifications:
  • Diploma in procurement/purchasing & supplies management/logistics
  • Knowledge of procurement and purchasing procedures and service agreements desired.
  • Ability to manage the organization stock
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others, work under pressure on tight and different deadlines and handle multiple concurrent projects/activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
