Procurement Manager at Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA)

The Authority hereby invites applications for employment in the following vacant position:
Procurement Department
Procurement Manager
Ref: KeRRA/HR/PROC/2013/003
Working under the general supervision of the Director General, the Procurement Manager will head the Procurement Section and will be responsible for all procurement and supply matters in the Authority, in line with Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005.

Duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • planning and coordinating Procurement and Supply Management activities;
  • Managing and overseeing implementation of procurement policies, plans and strategies of KeRRA;
  • Ensuring procurement and disposal functions are in compliance with statutory provisions;
  • Preparing and submitting timely procurement reports;
  • Performance management; and
  • Training and development of Procurement staff.
Qualifications & Experience required:
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:
  • At least ten (10) years post qualification experience, in a relevant position three (3) of which should be in a senior position or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
  • Diploma in Supplies Management from a recognized institution; or
  • Bachelors Degree in any of the following:- Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Procurement and Supplies Management, Marketing, or Law from a recognized institution;
  • Masters Degree in any of the following:- Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Procurement and Supplies Management, Marketing, or Law from a recognized institution, will be an added advantage;
  • Registered as a member of an accredited professional procurement body such as Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS – Level 6) or both;
  • An understanding of the mandate of the Authority;
  • Computer literacy.
