i. University Publication Editor
Grade 12
Applicants must be holders of Masters degree in Journalism, Communication OR a relevant degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution.

In addition the applicants must have the following:

  • At least three (3) years relevant work experience
  • Be able to demonstrate administrative and professional competence in editorial work
Successful applicants will be expected to perform editorial work of various University documents including magazines and theses.

i. Civil Engineer
Grade 12
Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/ KCSE mean grade B+ (plus) and above and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least three (3) years work experience in the construction industry
  • Proficiency in Auto-Card
Duties of a Civil Engineer include the following:
  • Design and production of structural and civil working drawings for projects

i. Procurement Manager
Grade 13
Applicants must be holders of Masters degree in Commerce, Business Administration (Purchasing and Supplies Management Option), Purchasing and Supplies Management, Marketing, Law or any other related field from a recognized university.
Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in Commerce/Business Administration (Procurement and Supplies Management option), Economics, Procurement and Supplies Management, Marketing or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
 
In addition applicants must have the following:
  • Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management or its approved equivalent from a recognized institution
  • At least five (5) years experience, three (3) of which as Principal Procurement Officer Grade 13
  • • Conversant with procurement systems and processes in public institutions
  • Excellent computer and negotiation skills
  • The applicant should be a registered member of CIPS/ KISM.
Project Manager’s Office (Development Section)
i. Project Manager
Grade 13
Applicants must be holders of Bachelors degree in Building Economics/Quantity Survey/Construction Management/Architecture/ Civil Engineering.
 
In addition applicants must have the following:
  • Registered with the relevant professional body and have at least five (5) years post-registration experience in a project management capacity and all aspects of project planning, development and management
  • Computer literate and strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project and reporting software programs
  • Demonstrated experience in Personnel Management
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Post-graduate qualification will be added advantage
The project manager will be employed within a design and build contract arrangement. 
He/she will be deployed as the Principal Site-based representative of the Project Implementation Committee.

ii. Estates Manager
Grade 13
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelors degree in Building Economics or Land Economics or Construction Management/Architecture or Civil Engineering.

In addition applicants should have the following:
  • At least five (5) years post-registration experience in Building Construction or Maintenance Works
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft project and reporting software programs
  • Wide experience in the Administration of staff, Preparation of Specifications, Bills of Quantities, Schedule of Materials, Cost Estimates and Supervision of the works
  • Registered by a recognized professional body and a relevant government board
  • Those with a Masters degree in the relevant field and three (3) years work experience will have an added advantage.
iii. Senior Clerk of Works
Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE division III/KCSE mean grade C (Plain). 
They must be holders of a minimum professional qualification of a Higher National Diploma in Building Construction/Civil Engineering/equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
In addition they must have at least three (3) years post-qualification work experience as Clerk of Works/Foreman in a construction firm or in a large organization.
iv. Clerk of Works
Grade A/B
Applicants must be holders of KCE division III/KCSE mean grade C (plain). They must be holders of a minimum professional qualification of an Ordinary Diploma in Building Construction/Civil Engineering/equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
In addition they must have at least three (3) years post qualification work experience as Clerk of Works/Foreman in a construction firm or in a large organization.
4. Office of the Deputy Vice – Chancellor (Administration)
 
i. Chief Legal Officer
Grade 13
Applicants must be holders of a Master of Law and Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant work experience
  • Strategic thinking capacity, excellent analytical, problem solving, time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and lead a team

Duties of a Chief Legal Officer include the following:
  • To be in-charge of all legal matters of the organization
  • To take part in high level planning meetings and giving legal advice and opinions
  • Assessing legal documents of the organization to ensure legal protection
  • To ensure confidentiality and privacy of all legal data in the organization
  • To keep track of the latest changes and law regulations and advice the University
  • To organize legal representation

ii. Senior Legal Officer
Grade 12
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience.
 
Duties of a Senior Legal Officer include the following:
  • Advising on corporate governance
  • Liaising with external Lawyers and other legal bodies
  • Coordinating the implementation of the provisions of all legislation, statutes, regulation and policies administered by the University
  • Taking minutes during board and management meetings when requested
  • Compiling weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on all cases being handled by the University
  • Prepare opinions, briefs, papers and memoranda as may be required from time to time
iii. Legal Officer
Grade 11
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university.
Applicants must have at least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
 
Duties of a Legal Officer will include the following:
  • Participating in drawing, negotiating and vetting contracts, leases and other legal instruments
  • Drafting responses to legal queries and general correspondence
  • Liaising with Company witnesses and external Advocates on litigation matters
  • Providing legal opinions and reports on legal matters as may be required
  • Compiling evidence and other information on cases and forwarding to external Lawyers
  • Compiling reports on legal matters
  • Participating in resolving disputes with clients and other parties
Applicants in any of the three (3) positions will also be expected to meet the following requirements:
  • Have been admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
  • Be in possession of a current practicing certificate

5. School of Environmental Planning and Management 
Department of Environmental Planning and Management
 
i. Associate Professor
Applicants must be holders of Ph.D degree in any of the following fields: Urban and Regional Planning/ Environmental Planning & Management/Architecture from a recognized university.
In addition the applicants must have the following:
  • Eight (8) years of university teaching, four (4) of which as full time Senior Lecturer
  • Successfully supervised at least four (4) Masters students and one (1) Ph.D student, since being appointed Senior Lecturer
  • At least four (4) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as Senior Lecturer
  • Evidence of successfully applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed Senior Lecturer
  • Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or Workshops
  • Valid professional registration and practicing certificate from statutory institutions
ii. Senior Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of a Ph.D degree in any of the following fields: Urban and Regional Planning/ Environmental Planning & Management/Architecture from a recognized university.

In addition the applicant must have the following:
  • At least five (5) years of university teaching, three (3) of which as full time Lecturer
  • Three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as Lecturer
  • Successful supervision of at least three (3) Masters students
  • Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed as Lecturer
  • Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars or Workshops
  • Valid professional registration and practicing certificate from statutory institutions
iii. Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of a Ph.D degree in any of the following fields: Urban and Regional Planning/Environmental Planning & Management/Architecture from a recognized university or have successfully defended Ph.D thesis.

In addition applicants must have the following:
  • Full-time university teaching experience as a Tutorial Fellow/ Assistant Lecturer for at least three (3) years
  • Valid professional registration and practicing certificate from statutory institutions
iv. Tutorial Fellow
Applicants must be holders of Masters degree in any of the following fields: Urban and Regional Planning/ Environmental Planning & Management/ Architecture from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must be prepared to pursue Ph.D degree in area of specialization
Applicants who have registered for Ph.D degree will have an added advantage.
 
v. Technician
Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/ KCSE mean grade C+ (plus). 
They must have a minimum professional qualification of Higher National Diploma in GIS/ Auto-Card/ Arch-Card/ Cartography from a recognized institution.
In addition applicants must have at least three (3) years work experience in a busy environment.
 
vi. Technician
Grade A/B

6. School of Agriculture & Enterprise Development
Office of the Dean
 
i. Farm Manager
Grade 12
Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) and above. 
They must have a Bachelors degree in Animal production/Agriculture related field from a recognized university.
 
In addition applicants must have the following:
  • Masters degree in Business Administration
  • Demonstrate strong management skills
  • At least three (3) years work experience as Farm Manager of large, modern dairy farm
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Public Procurement Procedures will be an added advantage.
Duties of a Farm Manager include the following:
  • Overall in-charge of the farm
  • In charge of overall management and planning for dairy production and marketing
  • Prepare farm budgets
  • Plan operations and ensure achievements of set targets/parameters
  • Enhance timely farm purchase of inputs such as animal feeds, veterinary drugs and semen
  • Coordinate team work to facilitate production and marketing, keeping administrative records in relation to yields and quality
  • Keeping accurate financial and technical records and analyzing the same to indicate profitability of the enterprise
  • Responsible for maintenance of facilities and equipment and periodic evaluation
  • Prepare periodic returns and analysis i.e monthly and quarterly reports and evaluations
ii. Senior Assistant Farm Manager – Nutrition and Feed Centre
Grade 11
Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) and above. 
They must have a Masters degree in Animal Nutrition from a recognized university.

In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least two (2) years practical experience in feed technology/ ration formulation for animals
  • Computer literate
Duties of a Senior Assistant Farm Manager include the following:
  • Assists the farm manager
  • In-charge of the feed centre operations
  • Formulates rations for the various groups of animals within the farm
  • Ensure availability of adequate feed stock at all times
  • Monitors milk production in relation to feeding and related financial analysis
  • Guides on-farm fodder production, harvesting, processing and utilization
iii. Assistant Farm Manager-Veterinary Services
Grade E/F
Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) and above. 
They must have a Bachelors degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least two (2) years work experience in reproductive management and animal husbandry
  • Computer literate
Duties of an Assistant Farm Manager include the following:
  • In-charge of health management and husbandry of the farm herd
  • Assists the farm manager in functions related to planning and management of herd health, breeding and general husbandry
  • Ensure availability of adequate and high quality semen and general reproductive services
  • Analyze daily system reports for any disease indications and heat signs
  • Other duties as may be allocated by the farm manager
iv. Technical Assistant – Milking Parlour In–Charge
Grade A/B
Applicants must be holders of KCE division III/KCSE mean grade C (plain) and above. 
They must have a minimum professional qualification of Diploma in Animal Production/Animal Health/Dairy Technology from a recognized institution.

In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least two (2) years work experience in a large dairy farm
  • Computer literate
Duties of a Technical Assistant include the following:
  • Ensure timely and proper milking of the animals
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the milking parlour
  • Ensure proper handling of the milk
  • Coordinate the activities of the milking parlour with the milkers
7. Health Unit
 
i. Community Oral Health Officer (COHO)
Grade E/F
Applicants must be holders of KCE division III/KCSE mean grade C (plain) and above. 
They must have a minimum professional qualification of an Ordinary Diploma in Community Oral Health from Kenya medical Training College (KMTC).

In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least two (2) years experience in a busy organization
  • Registration with the relevant body
Terms of Service:
The terms of service for the above include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance. Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance – based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.
