FIN–BCA –NOVEMBER- 2013

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the Finance Division. 
In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Decision Support, the job holder will manage the Technology Capex, Nopex and Opex Budgets and offering a partnering/support role within the division with respect to the company strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

  • Preparation of Monthly budget utilization reports &Identification of saving opportunities and any duplication.
  • Provision of the raw data for budgeting with the cost drivers for Technology division.
  • Accurate and Timely submission of Budget of the details from all the departments.
  • Review the inputs from all the departments for reasonableness in line with known or predictable business and overall company strategy. Agree with the departmental heads
  • Closely working with the respective departmental representatives & guiding them through the budgeting process
  • Prepare a database for all the technical projects with all the milestones
  • Weekly Technology Capex Governance – Review of Business Cases, Weekly updating of approved projects, tracking and necessary information management
  • Loading of Capex budgets into Oracle on a timely basis after necessary approvals
  • Management of all budget transfers for the division with documented justifications.
  • Keep track of all the network elements for financial reporting.
  • Keep track of assets disposed during the month and report the same to fixed assets
  • Review decommissioned sites, ensure proper documents are raised and information is relayed to Fixed asset accountant
  • Ensure receipting is done in time by confirming the oracle reports bi-monthly.
  • Breakdown of network maintenance costs per site per month and having finance compare it with revenues per site to determine the contribution margin per site.
  • Analysis of Opex costs with an aim of determining any cost that is capital in nature is moved to Capex.
  • Ensuring that all support contract costs are provided for and PO’s raised where contract are agreed.
  • Monthly monitoring of the business usage cost to ensure that all the provisions are adhered to by all the departments.
  • Determining of the monthly saving/deficit on each of the departmental Opex budget communicate to Director Technology and the HOD’s on the areas of risk
  • Maintain an up to date database for all the support contracts with relevant documentation
  • Breakdown of network maintenance costs per site per month for site performance review.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor honors degree from a recognized university preferably Bachelor of Commerce or Business administration.
  • 2-3 years accounting experience in an international or well-run company in corporate reporting for financial and management information.
  • Direct involvement in Corporate reporting for financial and management information in a busy environment
  • Preparation of periodic budgets and forecasts.
  • Submission of accurate, timely and relevant information for management decision making purpose
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to monitor and explain trends and variances
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Highly computer literate with experience of a computerized accounting system preferably with Oracle applications
  • Ability to analyze processes and systems for enhancement of efficiencies and performance
  • Ability to relate well with both internal and external customers and work in teams
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to train others and enhance their skills and competencies
  • Self- drive for results.
