Context/Scope:

First point Africa launches in April 2013 and will provide HR support services to; Nigeria, East Africa Breweries Ltd (and its various business units), Africa Regional Markets (and its various business units), Diageo SA and Brandhouse.

HR Shared Services – Africa first point:

Within first point a team of professional and committed HR Advisors work together to provide value-add support and expertise that liberates Managers and employees across the business. Roles within first point are split into Tier 1 and Tier 2 support and span Employee Lifecycle Processes, Legal Documentation, Benefits administration, Employee Data Management, Policy advice and general query support. The organization structure is split between roles based in a central location in Nairobi, Kenya and in market first point roles all designed to service the business.

This role while reporting into the broader Global first point organization, will also be a member of the Africa HR Leadership Team and manages 8 line managers (4 based in Nairobi and 4 based in market) and indirectly over 45 advisors based not only in Nairobi but also based across all business units in Africa.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for Africa first point performance including Budget, People Management and development (first point capability), Service Level Management, and driving further and on- going performance opportunities.

Purpose of Role:

The HR SSC Manager is first and foremost responsible for owning and delivering consistent, reliable performance outcomes through leading, coaching and motivating a large group of HR professionals. This person will be focused on creating the conditions for high performance standards and in particular a great customer experience against core SLAs through laser-like focus on priorities, personal accountability and team engagement. Simplicity, brilliance and efficiency will be the cornerstones of the job. They will forge connections across a variety of stakeholders both with HR and the business to enable close working partnerships that act as enablers for performance and breakthrough thinking. They will partner with Global first point Leadership Team colleagues to create and implement future strategy around the first point service proposition.

Top Accountabilities:

•Support the implementation of the first point Africa organization.
•Deliver and own the total first point Africa team performance against key SLAs.
•Apply a commercial mind-set to running the first point operation by interrogating trend and performance data on a regular basis to deliver insights and breakthroughs in performance, team capacity, customer experience and cost to serve.
•Governance of the core operation of the first point service centre (including the in-market teams).
•Lead the relationship management agenda across the first point customer markets.
•Connect the Engagement Partners for our 21 countries within first point to ensure the key relationships with various HR teams are being managed proactively
•Representing Africa as member of the Global Core HR Process Transformation Board – ensuring that our End to End processes and process improvements serve the ambitions of the business.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

•Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
•Previous Commercial and / or HR Business Partner experience is highly desirable.
•Passion for people management and development.
•Experience of having successfully engaged, motivated and influenced a variety of stakeholders.
•A thorough understanding of HR policies, procedures and practices and their application is very advantageous.
•Ability to identify and deliver change and continuous improvement initiatives and manage change control.
