Credit Bank is an established commercial bank and is rapidly growing its branches so as to grow the network. 
To support our growth strategy, we are looking for a dynamic and proactive Kenyan professional with strong credentials and relevant work experience to fill the position below to be stationed at our Head Office.

Clearing Officer
Ref: CBL/HRCO/04/2014

Reporting to the Chief Manager – Operations & ICT, the incumbent will be responsible to provide leadership to the clearing team and monitor the clearing process for both Local and Foreign Clearing Instruments received by the Bank ensuring timely presentation at the Clearing House, prompt settlement and accurate updating of Customers’ accounts.
 

Main Duties:
  • Participate in the development, planning and execution of the clearing operations strategy of the Bank
  • Manage and effectively oversee accurate and timely remittance of outward clearing files to CBK (Cheques deposits and EFT payments)
  • Manage processing and download of all inward clearing files from CBK to all branches
  • Daily review of branch reconciliation in relation to all branch clearing suspense accounts
  • Ensure timely resolution to clearing queries from within the bank as well as from other banks
  • Ensuring that the clearing bank software is updated to KBA standards from time to time
Minimum qualification and experience required:
  • Bachelors degree in Banking, Finance or Accounting.
  • 3 years’ experience in bank operations, with at least 1 year in a similar role in a financial institution.
  • Working knowledge of Sybrin and T24 system.
  • Technical skills to effectively perform and/or guide performance of day clearing activities/tasks in a manner that consistently produce high quality of service.
  • Knowledge of relevant products and services.
  • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures, guidelines, including Automated Clearing House (ACH) rules and guidelines and to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and manage customer expectations (internal and external), and other stakeholders who impact performance.
