AIC Kijabe Hospital a church based hospital is seeking for competent individuals to fill the below positions:
 
Title: Radiographer

2 Positions

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to manage the hospital radiology department and to participate in the spiritual ministry of the hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As Radiation Safety Officer, ensure that all equipment staff and patient are dealt with in a safe and effective manner.  
  • Report to the Radiation Protection Board as required.
  • Organize and attend morning devotions for the department staff.
  • Ensure there are adequate stocks in place for all procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement in the department
  • Perform radiologic, ultrasonic and ECG examinations on patients sent for the same and avail the results to the referring physician.
  • Doing portable examinations in the wards and in the operating room.
  • Instructing patients/relatives on the preparation they need to undergo and giving appointments for special radiological examinations.
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by your supervisor.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
  • Born again Christian with desire to serve patients and staff well
  • Diploma in Radiography with full registration with the Radiation Protection Board
  • Demonstrated skill in ultrasonography
  • Experience in CT radiography will be an added advantage

Title: Laboratory Receptionist

Purpose: The purpose of the position is receiving patients, carry out clerical duties, and send out specimens and to participate in the spiritual ministry of the hospital for the glory of God.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Respond to all Clients and Patients during regular working hours.
  • Do statistics on a daily and monthly basis for all Lab Tests and communicate the same to the relevant authority.
  • File Patient information for easy reference.
  • Distribute final results to relevant departments.
  • Send out specimens going to Referral Laboratories.
  • Direct patients and relatives to the right places in the Hospital.
  • Keep the working area tidy and well organized.
  • Participate in the spiritual ministry of the hospital as required.
  • Filling the Microbiology log in the Bugs (Micro-organisms) data.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to by the supervisor.
Desirable Qualifications
Minimal Academic Qualifications (Formal education)
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C- or equivalent.
Professional /Technical Qualifications
  • Certificate in Secretarial studies or Medical Laboratory technology.
Other competencies
  • Computer literacy
  • Born again Christian with signs of spiritual maturity.
Minimum Relevant experience
  • Two years in a busy hospital reception.

Job Title: Store Clerk 
2 Positions

Purpose:
The Stores Clerk is responsible for the efficient running of the stores in close co-ordination with and under the control of the Purchasing Officer / Stores Supervisor and as per the Hospital’s Standard operating procedure.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To execute the receiving and dispatching of stock.
  • Ensure all stock has serial numbers and coded.
  • Ensure right time of delivery.
  • Ensure invoice has correct price as per LPO.
  • Maintain records of serviced LPOs.
  • Ensure correct stacking.
  • Ensure correct quantity as per Requisition Note.
  • Ensure FIFO.
  • Ensure neatness, cleanliness and orderliness at all times.
  • Weekly purchase review for re-orders.
  • Prepare stock requirements well on time.
  • Draw required stock and keep bin cards correctly updated.
  • Complete GRN of stock received from suppliers and forward to the purchasing office.
  • Administer all paperwork and delivery notes as per defined procedures.
  • Ensure minimum and maximum stock threshold are maintained at all times.
  • Take part in stock take.
  • Monthly physical inventory counts and ongoing inventory control.
  • Receiving incoming orders and signing off documentation.
Academic  Qualifications:       
  • Certificate/ Diploma in Supplies or Stores Management           
  • Stores/Supplies Management certificate
  • Candidate Description:
  • 1 year stores or warehouse experience preferably in the health/medical sector.
  • Strong organizational skills and focused on service delivery.
  • Integrity and attention to detail.
  • Be able to work unsupervised and meet set deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literacy essential .
  • Working knowledge of Sage, Pastel is an added advantage.

Job Title: Cashier 
4 Positions 
Purpose: To glorify God, by ensuring that the Hospital invoices and collects all its due revenue from its clients and healthcare partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure an efficient and Christ like work environment with other departments, staffs, patients and their relatives receives excellent services.
  • To interact with the patients and other departments in a courteous and helpful manner, to get clarification on the contents of the files, etc, in order to accurately calculate the bill and other Hospital charges.
  • To interpret the data on the patient file, etc, ensuring that all charges are complete and accurate.
  • To perform the final calculations on patient bills and other hospital charges. This includes inputting the bills/charges into the computer and generating a computerized receipt. The data is then used to complete the month’s computerized general ledger.
  • To collect the payments, keep an accurate balance of cash vs. receipts and timely hand over the same to the Head Cashier.
  • To collect all of the necessary insurance information from patients and/or relatives and follow up with the insurance claiming process as well as to properly document all the information.
  • To work with the Accounts Assistant to confirm that the Corporate Debtors’ advise notes are genuine and if the A/c in question is credit worth.
  • To assist patients, relatives, staff and the general public with any queries they may have regarding bills, charges, mode of payment, etc and act as a good public relations person for KH.
  • To set the objectives and standards of the duties analyzed in your job Description. This includes writing the procedures you go through in performing your duties well and ensure continuity.
  • Be responsible for the financial integrity of AIC Kijabe Hospital and inform the Finance Director and Accountant of all issues relevant to the financial operations of KH.
  • Keep the working area and files presentable and actively contribute to the quality improvement of the Business Office services.
  • To perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Finance Director/Accountant as may be deemed necessary by mutual agreement.
Working Time: 45 hours per week according to the collective bargaining agreement.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Minimum of C Plain in KCSE
  • Minimum of C Plain in Mathematics
  • KATC Final
  • C.P.A PART I
  • Computer literate
  • A Christian with good standing
  • Ability to speak English and Kiswahili fluently.
  • 3 Years’ experience in a similar position.
