Accounts Assistant at NAS Airport Services

A leading Company is looking to fill the position of an Accounts Assistant.

Reporting to the Cost Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for;

Daily Duties

  • Updating the schedules for daily item figures and daily item distribution figures
  • Updating the 3 day item cost and distribution
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports on request by different line managers – sensitivity analysis, costing for imported goods etc
  • Creation of new item codes in the electronic system
  • Analysis of purchase invoices to ensure correctness of the codes, units and prices
  • Policing of the electronic database to ensure no duplication of items are created
  • Checking on cost prices of raw materials and creation of codes

Month-end Duties

  • Monthly reports – activity, revenue, monthly item cost and sales analyses
  • Quarterly technical stock take and investigation of variances, correction and subsequent closure
  • Bond stock take and variance analysis and correction
  • Zeroization of stock items in non-stock locations and cost sheet generation 
  • Month-end closure of branch final month-end adjustments
  • General ledger account analysis as assigned
The position is challenging and calls for a dynamic, confident, aggressive and forward thinking person with the following attributes;
  • Holder of a bachelors degree in finance or accounting 
  • Holder of CPA Part 2
  • Three years progressive experience in a similar position
  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work without supervision and achieve goals beyond set indicators.
  • Excellent oral communication and listening skills and a high standard of work performance.
