Fleet Supervisor at Africabs Tours

Position Summary:
  • Responsible for assigning, overseeing, training and evaluating drivers, and for dealing with problems involving customers and chauffeurs.
  • Building relationships with clients and corporate customers while protecting our products & services.
  • Providing chauffeur services to our clients both in the corporate world and the private sector as and when required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum O-level certificate
  • Valid Certificate of good conduct
  • Valid driving licence and PSV
  • Minimum of five years driving experience
  • Possession of a mechanical driving test from Grade 1 to 3 is an added advantage
  • Good communication skills. Fluent in English.
Duties and Responsibilities:  
 
Supervision of chauffeurs
  • Ensure all chauffeurs are well groomed and in full uniform with staff badge.
  • Conduct regular reviews of chauffeur motor vehicle records and ensure they are valid  (PSV, Driving Licence, Good conduct)
  • Coordinate chauffeur shifts.
  • Coordinate with fleet manager on chauffeur vacations, holidays and personal offs and leaves.
  • Evaluate performance of chauffeurs in coordination with the fleet manager.
  • Review all chauffeur daily paperwork to insure accuracy. .
  • Conduct initial training of new chauffeurs in all aspects of their functions and insure all drivers fully understand and have the necessary skills to safely and effectively perform all aspects of their job.
  • Assist the fleet controllers in route assignments to promote consistency in operations.
Vehicle Maintenance
  • Coordinate and conduct drivers meetings to accomplish the goals of the company.
  • Fueling of all fleet vehicles.
  • Assist in direct garage activities to assure vehicles are maintained in safe and proper operating condition.i.e maintenance, servicing and repair functions.
  • Perform monthly inspection on fleet vehicles.
  • Administer corrective action on preventable accidents or incidents requiring discipline.
  • Investigate all fleet accidents and insure compliance with all reporting requirement of both police and insurance company
  • Assist the fleet manager  in planning and organizing of procurement of  vehicles; prepare vehicle specifications according to company needs; research and evaluate new vehicles; assist in coordination of the purchasing and assure optimal pricing and quality of vehicles for the company; participate in related negotiation and quotation activities; Assist in the selling or disposal of used company  vehicles.
  • Assist the fleet manager in developing and preparing the annual preliminary budget for vehicle maintenance, repair, operation, servicing and procurement functions
Problem Solving
  • Troubleshoots problems throughout the day, such as answering questions from chauffeurs, handling customer complaints and problems, notifying chauffeurs of changes on work issues.
  • Analyze and monitor vehicle safety inspection sheets and counsel drivers on proper procedures
Other duties as required
  • Communicate with administrators, personnel and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information.
  • Keep daily and monthly records and submit them as specified by management
  • Substitute for chauffeurs when necessary.
  • Attend and participates in meetings with other supervisory personnel.         
Job Requirements
  • Adhere to all company regulations strictly.
  • Maintain a valid PSV, Good conduct and driver’s licence.
  • Avoid usage of any forms of drugs, alcohol, nicotine or intoxicants while at work
  • Drive undisrupted by any other hand held devices at all times
  • Indemnify Africabs Tours company and all its entities from any and all claims arising during the omission or commission of your work
  • Plan and implement marketing initiatives to grow and maintain customer database
  • Be professional and courteous to all persons whilst employed with Africabs Tours Company
