Fulbright Scholarship for Master’s Degree in US by U.S. Embassy in Nairobi

Call for Applications
The U.S. Embassy in Nairobi is seeking to recruit highly qualified Kenyans for the Fulbright
Scholarship program. The program provides a two year fully funded masters’ degree
scholarship for academic study in the United States.
Fulbright scholars are selected based on their potential for leadership in their academic fields and commitment to public service.
The Fulbright program is the flagship exchange program of the U. S. government and is therefore
extremely competitive.
Applications are invited from all academic fields except Medicine and business related areas.
SELECTION CRITERIA
To qualify for the Full bright Scholarship, one must:
1. Be a citizen, a national or a permanent residents holding a valid passport issued by the
government of Kenya.
2.
Have at least the equivalent of 4 years of university study and the equival ent of a U.S.
bachelor’s degree by June 1, 2015.
3.
Have a sufficient level of English proficiency to realistically accomplish full-time graduate level study in the U.S. TOEFL test is required with a score of 100 or above in the computer based test which should be taken by May 2015.
4.
Meet the minimum score on required standardized tests for specific academic areas. GRE is required for all applicants.
5.
Have a high motivation and a serious commitment to completing the program as scheduled and to returning home.
6.
Have little or no recent U.S. experience.
7.
Have no previous Fulbright Student Program grant. This also applies to Humphrey fellowship alumni but does not apply to Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program alumni.
DEGREE OBJECTIVE AND GRANT DURATION
Awards are granted for 1 to 2 years of study towards a Master’s degree
