HR Assistant at Zetech University

We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of a HR Assistant for a short-term contract with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities 
Reporting to the HR Officer, the position holder will, among other duties, be responsible for:
  • Assisting in the recruitment process by drafting advertisements, receiving and sorting applications, planning for interviews and other selection methods, conducting background checks and sending out regrets to unsuccessful applicants
  • Managing the application database and ensuring that both hard and soft copy CVs are well categorized
  • Conducting staff induction for new employees and offering support to new employees by providing adequate and timely information
  • Assisting in planning for the logistics required in training of staff
  • Drafting and issuing documents such as letters, contracts for new hires and job descriptions
  • Assisting in the administration of the medical scheme
  • Assisting in the compilation of performance management reports
  • Assisting in the management of human resource records, filing and updating employees’ personal bio data and keying in staff data into the HRMIS
  • Assist in processing employees’ terminal dues and other separation processes
  • Raising various requisitions for the HR Office and handling petty cash requirements
  • Handling requests for data and information
  • Guiding employees in their loan applications
  • Assisting in resolving administrative problems and inquiries
  • Participating in departmental growth for the HR function
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of a diploma in a business related field (preferably HRM) with a Higher Diploma in HRM (KNEC)
  • Minimum of a C+ in KCSE
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Experience in general HR functions is preferred
  • Should be a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and going the extra mile
  • Should be an intellectually curious individual with sound analytical skills and willingness to learn
  • Should possess strong IT skills
  • High levels of honesty, integrity and confidentiality
