Sales Manager (Kiambu) at Takamoto Biogas

Company Profile: Takamoto Biogas was founded in 2011 and has developed the first Lease-to-Own Biogas business model in the world. 

We supply systems to farmers in Kenya with 2 or more cows to turn their cow dung into gas for cooking and the farmers only pay Ksh 3,000 per month until they own the biogas system. 
Our company has focused in Kiambu County thus far, developing the technology and business model and now we are looking for experienced professionals to bring the expertise required to reach 5,000 sales in the next 1.5 years. 
The main sales region is Central Kenya with some sales in Rift Valley and Eastern.

Job Description: The sales manager will hire sales representatives from the local communities, train them, manage them and ensure sales targets are reached. 

The position also requires building relationships with organizations embedded in rural communities such as self help groups, financial literacy training, dairy co-operatives, SACCOs, Veterinarians, AgroVets and other players. 

Recruiting sales staff and training them will be a significant part of the job. The sales manager will develop strategies for making sales. 
The sales manager will spend 4-5 days per week in rural areas of Kiambu County.

Previous Experience

  • Selling to rural consumers in Kenya through in person sales
  • Running a successful and motivated sales team
  • On the ground knowledge of SACCOs, self help groups and local government
  • Making sales of high value items direct to consumers in rural areas of Kenya (B2C sales)
  • Training sales staff and hitting sales targets
Skills Required
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office and other computer skills
  • Drivers License (and motorcycle license a plus)
  • Fluent in Kikuyu
Remuneration
  • Ksh 75,000 per month plus commission expected at 75,000+ per month
  • Possible shareholding in the business after 1 year
