Accounts Assistant – Ugandan at Longhorn Publishers Limited

Longhorn Publishers Limited – Uganda is a leading provider of educational and other learning Materials in the East Africa region. 
We wish to recruit highly competent, proactive and self driven person to fill the following position:


Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:
  • Maintain cash controls.
  • Preparation of P & T returns
  • Managing and issuing of stocks
  • Managing office petty cash
  • Process supplier invoices and payments.
  • Maintain the purchase order system.
  • Process Company related activities disbursements.
  • Process travel requests and review expense reports from sales representatives.
  • Process sales invoices and collections accordingly.
  • Support in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Handle all tax matters e.g. PAYE, VAT, WHT, Corporation Tax.
  • Assist in preparation of annual audit schedules and coordinate the audit activity.
Job Specifications
  • Must be a Ugandan Citizen
  • Degree/Diploma in a Finance related field
  • Minimum two years of progressive relevant experience
  • Knowledgeable in ERP and Ms Office packages. 
  • Knowledge of Navision will be an added advantage
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Provide three referees, who must be current and previous employers where one has worked for more than one employer
