Supply Officer at MSF Switzerland (MSFCH)

MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need.
Location: Likoni, Mombasa County
Start date: 26th of October 2015
Length of contract: 3 months probationary contract with possibility of extension
The selected candidate will be reporting to Logistics Manager and he/she will provide administrative and operational support to the project.
Main Tasks include, but not limited to:
  • Monitor stock levels (medical and non medical) related to monthly consumption, figure expiry dates, excess drugs and possible shortages in the capital, using standard MSF tools, updating equipment inventory, check & provide monthly stock report
  • Ensure smooth running supply administration and the respect of the implemented supply procedures
  • Responsibility for filing documents, correspondence and other papers relating to supply in the project
  • Responsibility for the supply database and the purchase management, focus on following the MSF guidelines
  • Follow-up of local purchases, communication with suppliers, preparation of market assessments, contracts, performing supplier evaluations
  • Performing purchases in coordination with the Logistics Manager
  • Ensure proper storekeeping and the reception of the goods & services
  • Weekly reporting activities to the Logistics Manager.
  • Essential secondary education and degree/specialisation in Logistics or supply chain – higher professional education (Bachelor) is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position. Previous MSF experience is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong initiative, able to handle complex assignments with proactive attitude
  • Organized, autonomous and attentive to details
  • Able to handle stressful situations and respond to short term needs
  • Punctual, reliable and flexible to work long hours when required
  • Computer literacy with practical use of MS-Office applications is an advantage
