User Interface and Visual Designer Intern at Cytonn Investments
Cytonn Technologies builds functional and visually appealing business oriented applications.
As part of the Cytonn Young Leaders program, we are looking for a design intern to learn design the Cytonn way and to help imagine, prototype, build, and refine the experiences that define our applications.
As a member of the Cytonn Technologies application team, you will work with various teams within Cytonn and with partner companies to review, revise and build web interfaces bringing unparalleled beauty and intuitive user experiences.
In addition, you will be involved in other aspects of design essentially touching UI, UX and visual design to build a solid design career.
We are looking for creative individuals with innate design sense and with a keen eye and up-to-date with modern design trends and willing to give back to the design community.
Your work must be clean, modern and inspiring.
Mastery of all aspects of design is not necessary but we prefer an intern who is not locked to one line.
This internship will lead to a full time position.
Responsibilities
- Identify and articulate user needs, build prototypes and wireframes do user research and refine solutions.
- Design beautiful and elegant graphics and interfaces as part of the Cytonn Technologies team.
- Research trends in design and update all Cytonn interfaces and products to a high standard.
- Collaborate with the software applications team to design and develop client websites and desktop applications.
- Develop a design standard and maintain design consistency and coherence across all Cytonn and customer products.
Requirements
- A grade of B and above in KCSE (or equivalent).
- A diploma in design or equivalent. Candidates expecting to complete their course work in the next few months are eligible as long as they will be available for training and ready to take on a full time position thereafter.
- Passion for design and problem solving.
- A portfolio. If you do not have any sample design work that you have done in the past then you should not apply.
- Ability to design outstanding web user interfaces for business oriented websites.
- Experience designing and building products and features for mobile or desktop, native or web.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production oriented dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks or other design tools.
- Interest in entrepreneurship, passion for business product systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload and deliver on critical project deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, building good working relationships with an excellent work attitude.
Desired (added advantage, not required)
- Visual design and data visualization skills.
- Knowledge of company branding principles.
- HTML and CSS skills and other frontend technologies.
