Business Development Manager

We wish to recruit a qualified and experienced Business Development Manager who will add value to the operations of the Group.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifying new growth opportunities through market research and engagement with internal teams;
  • Project managing roll out of new geographies/ growth opportunities;
  • Identifying and supporting partnership and acquisition discussions;
  • Liaising with legal on regulatory and licensing regimes across NMG markets;
  • Providing feedback and market intelligence to close market gaps and partnership opportunities
Knowledge, skills and attributes required:
  • BA/BSc. – Business, Commerce, IT, Media;
  • Over 5 years in Management experience in business development and managing partnerships;
  • Strong project, process and relationship building skills;

Press Technician
Job Ref: HR-PT-O1-2013
A vacancy has arisen in Nation Newspapers Division, and we wish to fill it with a qualified and experienced Press Technician.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating a web-offset newspaper printing press with its ancillary equipment.
  • Timely printing of the group’s and third-party’s high quality publications.
  • Routine and planned preventive maintenance of the printing press and ancillary equipment.
  • Preparing production reports.
  • Testing production materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes required:
  • Minimum ‘0’ Level Education certificate with a minimum grade C in Math, English, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Diploma in Machine Printing.
  • At least two (2) years working experience in a print production environment.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Familiarity and understanding of OSH Actof 2007
  • Awareness of ISO 9001 :2000 standards
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Below 26 years of age.
SAP ABAP Programmer

We are searching for a suitably qualified candidate for the position of SAP ABAP Programmer in the IT Department.
We invite applicants who are result oriented IT professionals with proven track records and attributes to excel in a highly competitive 24 by 7 by 365 environment.
This position reports to the IT Business Systems Supervisor.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • • Perform complex ABAP programming, testing, and debugging functions related to the implementation of SAP modules.
  • Develop and code difficult and complex programs for SAP modules
  • Develop test data and analyse problems in programs
  • Recognize the critical elements of application problems, develop and evaluate data, determine solutions, and make logical recommendations
  • Express difficult and complex concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

Minimum of 3 years of recent, full-time, paid experience in SAP ABAP programming.
Knowledge of:
  • SAP ABAP Programming Tools including Report and Transaction creation, Enhancements, Conversion Programs, SAP script, and Smart Forms
  • SAP Modules such as Fl, MM and SD.
  • SAP ASAP methodology
  • Principles and techniques of systems analysis, design, and testing
  • Principles of program documentation
  • Principles of report, screen, and form design
  • Strong Interpersonal and Customer Service skills;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Ability to work during odd hours.

  • Producing non-linear stories and ensuring NMG content is properly projected on digital platforms, including SEO;
  • Ensuring timely publishing to digital platforms and strengthening NMG digital platforms as a 24/7 medium for breaking news; and
  • Generating interesting and creative multimedia content in keeping with changing news and subject realities.
Knowledge & Skills requirements:
  • University Degree;
  • Diploma in Journalism;
  • 3 to 4 years working experience preferably as a sub editor;
  • Good level of knowledge of economic trends in Kenya and Africa.
  • Multimedia editing/production skills; and
  • Social media competence
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a journalism-related production role in a news-driven content-heavy website will be an added advantage.
