Relationship Manager – Institutional BankingJob SummaryReporting to the Chief Manager – Institutional Banking, the role holder will be responsible for marketing new accounts to institutions, promoting tailored range of banking products and services to our target clients, in order to achieve the business growth plans and retention through impeccable relationship management

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively build new business relationships with target clients, identifying banking customer needs and advising on appropriate financial solutions, with a focus on liabilities and  on cross selling the Bank products and services.
  • Expand existing portfolio of institutional customers maximize revenue by deepening relationships with the Customer.
  • Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans, including tactical ideas for identifying and initiating contact with potential customers with a view toward building a book of business and laying the foundation for strong relationships.
  • Preparing business proposals.
  • Keep abreast of industry/market developments so as to understand customer needs and identify new business opportunities.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties assigned by the Department Head from time to time
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
  • AKIB/ACIB/MBA will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of four (3) years’ experience preferably in a sales function
  • Proficiency in MS office Suite
  • Personal Attributes & Skills required in undertaking the role
  • Good knowledge of Kenyan &global micro & macro-economic and financial systems
  • Detailed knowledge of bank’s liability products.
  • Good organizational and general management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong business problem solving skills with strong customer orientation
  • Willingness to work anywhere in the country

Legal Manager

The successful person will report to the Head – Legal Services Department.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support to the Bank.

Main Duties:

  • The role holder will play a key advisory and guidance role within all levels of the Bank in legal matters
  • Representing the Bank in courts, tribunals’ arbitrations and other related forums.
  • Preparation, vetting and reviewing all contractual documents between third parties and the Bank.
  • Overseeing the perfection of Bank securities.
  • Protecting the interests of the Bank by perusing and approving all securities before and after registration
  • Perusing and interpreting legislation and other legal instruments.
  • Preparing standard legal documentation for use by the Bank and liaising with the Bank’s external lawyers
Job Specification (Expected Skills/Attributes):
  • The incumbent will be required to possess the following attributes:
  • Must be analytical with good management skills and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Must be self- motivated with strong interpersonal skills

Bancassurance Officers

Job Summary

The role holders will be responsible for the development and execution of sales and marketing programs in line with the Bancassurance strategy as well as generation of business from the Bank’s existing Corporate, Asset Finance and Personal banking portfolios.

Main Duties

The key responsibilities will among others include:

  • Prospecting and marketing various insurance products to prospective clients
  • Preparation of quotations, negotiating terms for customers and closing sales
  • Advising customers on the adequacy of cover requested for in relation to policies available
  • Oversee the operational aspects of Bancassurance business at the branch i.e. underwriting, claims, finance and customer service
  • Ensuring all collaterals and assets that have has an Bank interest are properly and comprehensively insured and the Bank’s interest properly noted
  • Ensuring that Bank, customers and staff insurable assets insured under the branch are renewed on time and premium is paid up
  • Market research/customer feedback to our head office Bancassurance team for the development of new products and enhancement of existing ones to suite the various market segments
  • Adherence to the set Bancassurance policies and procedures
  • Training of customers and branch staff on insurance translating to business conversion
  • Ensuring that all queries on technical insurance issues from customers and branch staff are addressed promptly while providing technical guidance
  • Preparation of relevant production and financial reports

Job Specification

The incumbent will be required to possess the following qualifications and attributes/skills:

  • University Degree, preferably in a business field
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of bancassurance
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking capacity and strong analytical and presentation  skills

Relationship Manager – Mortgage Branch Support

Job Summary:

The purpose of the job is to source of mortgage business through support of Branches with a view of increasing the mortgage loan book.

Main Duties

The key responsibilities will among others include:

  • Undertaking and support pitching for new business from existing database of Branch customers
  • Research, propose and champion mortgage solutions for the Branch customers
  • Ensuring product and Income targets are met.
  • Actively advise Head Mortgage Finance ideas for alternative product strategies to manage Branch mortgage sales.
  • Monitor and provide feedback to Business line leadership on competitor product activity, including pricing
  • Provide and analyze product income data/information for Business line leadership
  • Contribute in setting of Bank targets on Branch mortgage sales
  • Co-ordinate production of a Standard Tariff, which is easily understood by customers and staff and easy to administer
  • Handling of inquiries on mortgage sales from Co-operatives customers & assigned branches
  • Review of new applications
  • Providing guidance for purposes of re-packaging applications to meet our requirements
  • Origination and follow-up of disbursements

  • Monitor adherence to agreed product pricing strategy

  • Liaise with Sales teams to design and deliver appropriate training, and give input into sales strategies for Branch customers.
  • Provide clear direction of the Co op Bank’s objectives by translating business performance objectives and measures into clear, concise communication

Job Specification

The incumbent will be required to possess the following attributes/skills:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in, commerce, Economics, Finance, Banking or Business Administration and any other relevant qualification.
  • A master’s degree in any of the above related disciplines is an added advantage
  • At least 5 years experience in mortgage sales in a commercial or development banking environment.
  • Good knowledge and experience in project appraisal preferably in a banking environment
  • Computer literacy is mandatory
