IT Administrator at AirKenya Express Ltd

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Administrator will provide systems support to all users.

S/he will perform revision, repair, or expansion of programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software applications, systems, printers, scanners, and more.
  • Supporting existing WAN, LAN, WLAN and Pabx.
  • Supporting roll-out of new applications and training of new users.
  • Talking to clients and computer users to determine the nature of their problem.
  • Investigating, diagnosing and responding to computer software and hardware faults.
  • Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources and software Applications.
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts as per request.
  • Perform backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
  • Development of new software applications and maintenance of existing ones using existing development tools.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Maintain operational, configuration and other set procedures.
  • Manage stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies.
Person Specification
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably IT/Computer Science.
  • Microsoft and Cisco Certification an added advantage
  • Diploma and other qualifications in Programming and support an added advantage
  • Ability to work independently
  • Passion for IT field and desire to grow him/herself
