Tech Support Specialist at Kimetrica

Position Summary: Kimetrica is seeking a dynamic individual, who is committed to strengthening capacity in its IT setup. 
The Tech Support Specialist will report to the Head of ICT Service and the position will require close liaison with all the other departments to ensure that all IT related needs are addressed in good time.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and enhancing local area networks
  • Ensure consistent bandwidth and liaise with ISP
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems, applications and relate services e.g. printers
  • Inventory tagging and management
  • Talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or remotely to help set up systems or resolve issues
  • Troubleshooting systems and network problems
  • Diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
  • Support the roll-out of new applications when required
  • Setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
  • Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
  • Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time
  • Testing and evaluating new technology
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment
  • BSc in Computer Science or a Degree in an IT related with a bias on hardware and software
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware, installations and configuration
  • Good hands on experience with IT support functions
  • Experience of LAN and WAN support essential CCNA certification is an advantage
  • Excellent communications skills and courteous approach
  • Experience in Server management and configuration is an advantage
  • Knowledge of or exposure to security appliances is an advantage e.g. ASA firewalls, Untangle, Pfsense e.t.c
