Plumber at CDL
Reports to: Technical Manager / Administration
The Role: To know the intricacies of installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing fixtures and systems.
Job Expectations
- Be able to read and understand building blueprints to gauge layouts of plumbing systems and water supply networks.
- To determine how a plumbing system needs to be installed and what type of drainage systems the building in question needs.
Responsibilities
- Confer with construction staff to determine what type of plumbing and drainage systems need to be designed
- Design and install core plumbing and drainage systems in accordance to clients’ specifications
- Study blueprints to determine the type of materials needed to install plumbing systems
- Test plumbing system performance through observations and make notes on changes or modification needed
- Identify required tools and materials to install plumbing systems
- Select the types and sizes of pipes and other fixtures according to the building blueprint specifications
- Locate and mark positions for installing connectors and fixtures
- Install connectors and fixtures on their marked places using appropriate tools and materials
- Assemble and install fittings and valves and recheck to make sure that have been installed properly
- Test plumbing systems through teething period to ensure that they are in proper working order
- Install sinks, tubs, water closets and water heaters
- Perform preventative maintenance on fixtures, fittings and base pipes
- Test pipe systems for leaks and repair leaks and faults
- Repair faulty systems by performing diagnostic measures
- Prepare budgets and corresponding orders of plumbing installation supplies, equipment and tools
- Schedule plumbing activities in accordance to construction personnel to ensure that no conflicts emerge
Requirements
- Must have a technical and trade background
- 5+ years’ experience in food related environment
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems
- Understanding of the current regulations within the field
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
