Role Purpose:

The Device Manager is in charge of the device strategy definition and execution, supporting the company strategy, for both Mass market and Business market domains. This encompasses management of the device portfolio, device offers management, stocks management and all other device related business processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities.

1.1.       Acquisition targets and Revenue Growth

  • Manage the design and development process on both strategic and detailed levels
  • Work with both design, product and platform teams
  • Take requirements from global teams and create actionable tasks
  • Define and maintain pricing and business models for the product line.
  • Develop and implement high impact and differentiated product positioning and messaging
  • Support partnership priorities into the global mobile roadmap
  • Innovate on new connected device product offerings Achievement of  set 

1.2.      Innovation & Solution deployment:

  • Plans and deploys various stand alone and combined Device Solutions
  • Build product loyalty amongst customers
  • Plan and manage the Devices product lifecycle phase in/out mobile devices and scratch cards
    • Product Life-Cycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle management from concept to market launch.
    • Devise product pricing, positioning and business strategy identify opportunities for new products and product line extensions.
    • Generate product requirements and market requirements documents and work closely with engineering to help bring products to market
  • Ensure device testing is carried out. Manage the process efficiently
  • Ensure the execution of device specific sales promotions and coordinate full support from the sales department
  • Implement device enhancements such as OTA updates and  new product releases

1.3.       Strategic Planning

  •  Develop key sales and channel training materials covering industry trends, product value proposition, and competitive position.
  • Closely monitor marketplace for competitive moves.
  • Track top competitors and define winning strategies against these companies.
  • Report sales volumes, stock levels and turn around times
  • Manage timely forecasting for all devices
  • Manage vendors with respect to price negotiation, marketing materials support, after sales availability, product defect resolution and adherence to contractual obligations

 

Academic/ Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or an advanced Diploma in a Business related field; Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in device management and Excellent knowledge of device deployment & product management with specific focus on telecommunications devices.
