The National Council of Churches of Kenya, an umbrella organisation for Protestant Churches and Christian Organisations registered in Kenya, invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates, to fill the following positions:
 
Sector Head, Reproductive  Health
 
Kakuma Refugee Camp, Turkana County (REF: FORH – KRC)

Reporting to the Camp Coordinator, this position is responsible for identifying needs and gaps of high risk and vulnerable groups at Kakuma Refugee Camp in the areas of HIV and AIDS and Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and developing appropriate remedial projects. 

 
The incumbent will also conduct peer leadership training and follow up. 
 
The holder will work in close collaboration with other UN implementing partners on matters pertaining to these groups in the Camp. This is a non accompanied posting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse with HIV and AIDS or PMTCT or VCT counseling skills
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing will be an added advantage
  • 3 years relevant experience in refugee operations

Field Officer,  Reproductive  Health

Field Officer – Regions : 
 
2 Positions:  Coast Region (Mombasa) And Upper Eastern Region  (Meru)  (REF:FO – CR, UER; Indicate Preferred Station)
Reporting to the Regional Coordinator, this position will be involved in the implementation of the Council’s corporate plan within the Region and will involve extensive travel within the Region.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or a related field
  • 2 years’ post qualification experience in social science related work.

Field Officer, Peace Education
 
Dadaab Refugee Camp  – Garissa County (4 Positions) (Ref: FOPE – DRC)

Reporting to the Sector Head (Peace Education) this position  is responsible for facilitating peace education, conflict prevention and resolution activities for various community groups in the Camp.

The position involves making recommendations to the Supervisor on issues relating to their area of work.

This is a residential non-accompanied posting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or Education or  equivalent
  • 3 years relevant experience in refugee operations.
Other Competencies
  • Practical knowledge of conflict management
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Skills in report writing and ability to use digital photography
Field Officer – Healthy Choices
 
Dadaab Refugee Camp – Garissa County  (Ref. FOHC – DRC)
This position reports to the Sector Head, Reproductive Health and is responsible for facilitating implementation of a youth program (Healthy Choices) in the area of HIV/AIDS in the Camp.

This is a residential non-accompanied posting.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Science
  • 2 years experience in refugee operations
Other Competencies:
  • Training in HIV prevention Evidence Based Interventions (EBI) in healthy choices
  • Good Interpersonal relationships
  • Counselling skills
  • Communication skills
  • Computer skills
Assistant Accountant 
 
Dadaab  Refugee Camp, Garissa County (Ref: AA – DRC)

Reporting to the Camp Accountant, this position is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with established internal controls.

The position involves making recommendations to the Accountant on  issues related to accounting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
  • CPA II
  • One year experience in a similar position.
Other Competences
  • Working knowledge of commonly used accounting packages
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Local residents are encouraged to apply
Field Officer, Regions: 
 
2 Positions – Nyanza (Kisumu) And Western (Kakamega) (Ref:FO – NR, WR; Indicate Preferred Station)
Reporting to the Regional Coordinator, this position will be involved in the implementation of the Council’s corporate plan within the Region and will involve extensive travel within the Region.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences
  • 2 years post qualification experience  in working with Churches, especially in the area of mobilization and skills development
Other competencies
  • Community mobilization development skills
  • Training skills including Report writing skills
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Skills
  • Willing to travel frequently to the field
  • Team player
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Human Resource And Administration Officer, 
 
Refugee Services Programme  (Ref: HRD – RSP)
Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, this position is responsible for providing efficient and effective human resource and administrative support services to the Refugee Services Programme to both Dadaab and Kakuma at the Camps.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree in business or social sciences.
  • Diploma in Business Administration and Management
  • 3 years experience in a similar position.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic counseling skills.
  • A good sense of integrity and confidentiality
  • Full secretarial studies
