Agile Logistics (K) LTD, based in Mombasa – is one of the leading transportation and Logistics Company in the East African region providing safe and reliable Long Haulage, Warehousing and International Logistics services for specialized and general cargo to a diverse group of customers in the East African Region.  As our expansion strategy, we are opening a new branch in Nairobi from May 2013.  Therefore we are seeking talented and experienced individuals in the following areas.

1.       Declaration Clerks  (Nairobi)

  • Tracking shipments, updating customers on arrival information and ensuring correct shipping documentation.
  •  Liaising closely with customers ,and internal departments to coordinate the import and export of customer goods
  •  Coordination on all shipments including preparation of all documentation, working with shipping line, airlines, freight forwarders and inland carriers, providing updates, obtaining POD’s and charges, and performing all necessary data entry;
  • Customer service to include initiating and follow-up with customers and carriers to resolve problems, answer questions, correspondence and reports;
  •  Ensure compliance to all regulations regarding Imports and Exports.
  •  Follow up correspondence between various statutory bodies and other parties including KRA, KBS, KPA, etc.
  •  Obtain Customs release for Exports and truck border consignments
  •  Establish and maintain a working relationship with customs office
  • Liaise with suppliers for timely shipments, follow up for documents to be received and goods cleared well in time to avoid late documentation charges, storage charges and demurrages.
  •  To carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the Management from time to time.

Qualifications

  1. Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding or business related course with experience in logistics company
  2. Excellent Computer skills
  3. 2-4 years progressive working experience in a busy in logistics company

 

2.       Clearing & Forwarding  Supervisor (Mombasa)

Is Clearing & Forwarding your passion? We have a job for you. The incumbent will facilitate all Nairobi clientele  ensuring that  he /she completes all customs clearance duties necessary in order to ensure the smooth transfer of shipments by sea from Kenya and into Kenya. Some of duties include.

  • Arranging transfer of containers from and to Nairobi – Mombasa
  • Arrangement of customs clearance with the KPA
  • Possible verification of containers on arrival
  • Collection of original documentation from import controller and shipping coordinator if required for use in customs clearance in Mombasa
  • Keeping track of shipping news in the Mombasa area and relaying this information to the Operations Manager through written reports
  • Confirming of any breakages, delays etc.  for cargo destined to Nairobi.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

    1. Degree / Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding / Logistics or business related course with more than 2 years of experience in clearing and forwarding
    2. Excellent Computer skills
    3. Mature and responsible person who can take lead by example
    4. Possession of Driving license will be added advantage but not a must

3.       Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
  • Provide financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
  • Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaid; analyzing and reconciling retains and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures and complying with financial legal requirements.
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications

    1. Minimum C.P.A section I from a recognized institution.
    2. Experience in accounting packages will be an added advantage.
    3. Good computer skills
    4. Minimum  (1) years experience as an accountant

4.       Administrative Assistant / Secretary

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service, at all times to all Nairobi clientele
  • Assist in Running Nairobi office handling all office issues in consultation with operation manager
  • Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail

Job specification

  • A minimum of a Diploma Secretarial Studies or any business related course.
  • A minimum of 1 year work experience in a busy company
  • Excellent  Customer care skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong  interpersonal skills
  • Public relations skills
  • Self organization skills
  • Attention to detail

5.       ICT Assistant

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Computer Science or IT
  • Certification in A+, N+ or Cisco CCNA will be an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the users and diagnoses and resolution of ICT problems.
  • Provide adhoc troubleshooting of computer hardware, software and network infrastructure
  • Maintain the integrity of business data held on the systems
  • Implement and maintain ICT security
  • Facilitate information technology disaster recovery undertakings
  • Address User Support Requests
  • Maintain IT equipment inventory

6.       Data Entry Clerks

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enters customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
  • Tests customer and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data; reviewing output.
  • Secures information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

•              Diploma in IT or C+ in kCSE

•              Prior experience in data entry or in similar position is an added advantage.

7.       Drivers  –Heavy Commercials

Minimum requirement

    • Have a KCSE mean grade of D + (plus) or it’s approved equivalent qualification.
    • Have a valid driving license free from any current endorsement (s) Class (BCE) of vehicle (s)
    • Have at least two years driving experience – Heavy Commercials
    • Be a team player and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Certificate in Mechanics, Defensive driving and first aid added advantage

8. Office Assistant  (Lady)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Delivery/Dispatch of mail to respective parties
  • Deliver payment for VAT, NHIF, PAYE and NSSF on behalf of the firm.
  • Visit the post office regularly
  • General office maintenance
  • General filing of office documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned
