The Kenya School of Government was established by the Kenya School of Government Act, 2012.
The mandate of the School is to provide training, consultancy and research services designed to  inform public policy, promote national development and standards of competence, and integrity in the Public Service.

The School is inviting applications from suitable candidates to fill the following positions:

Audit Officers

Gross Salary Range: Ksh 65,275 – 76,026

2 Positions

KIA 7
An Auditor at this grade will be required to undertake audit assignments under overall direction of the supervisor (Senior Auditor).
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Audit School records and annual accounts of the school and report findings to his/her supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Commerce, accounting/audit option
  • CPA II or higher
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Membership in professional body
  • Computer literate in accounting software

Senior Accountants
Gross Salary Range: KShs 72,682 – 85,695

Reporting to the Deputy Director Finance and Administration campus and to Finance Manager corporate for professional guidance, the position holder will ensure that financial records and reports of the School are accurate, complete and relevant. 
He will also ensure that cash management, accurate financial reports and credit controls are done in a timely manner and information passed to management and clients. 
He will ensure safe custody of the Schools assets and financial documents
 
He/she will also prepare and present reports on financial performance of school.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare work plans, quarterly and annual performance reports;
  • In charge of accounts payables and receivable
  • Ensure programmes/workshops and other revenue activities are billed appropriately
  • Ensure that school financial records are properly maintained and accurate timely reports are issued on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure optimal management of funds
  • Supervise accounts staff to ensure that the school financial operations, transactions and records are properly maintained and managed
  • Manage the payment process including the management of the computerized accounting system of the Campus
  • Prepare the school’s statutory accounts in close liaison with management
  • Ensure compilation of fixed assets register and the coding of assets
  • Provide information required by internal and external auditors in response to audit queries,
  • Ensure that there are adequate internal control procedures to minimize loss of income or misuse of Schools assets.
  • Prepare School annual budget;
  • Ensure that all tax and other statutory returns are made in time
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Commerce, accounting option
  • Master’s in Business Administration Accounting option will be an added advantage
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPAK)/ ACCA
  • Must have working experience in Pastel Accounting or equivalent software eg.ERP
  • At least five (5 ) years relevant experience;
  • Computer literate in accounting software
