A Day in the Life

•Set and execute on total Country (Sub Sahara) long term strategy to grow the market

•Represent Medtronic in the local Market, responsible for establishing and managing strong relationships with key decision makers (e.g. MOH), government relations and ensuring legal compliance, reimbursement and distribution strategies.

•Partnering with the Businesses to implement market penetration strategies, identify key growth drivers and address market barriers.

•Engage and strengthen KOL relationships; provide focus/business alignment of local distributor partners and consultants

•Validate and provide market intelligence data.

•Ability to manage different type of operation (direct model distribution management)

Key Accountabilities:

•Support Sub Saharan strategy by aligning Country strategy/plans

•Exceed AOP EBIT of the assigned Division(s) and Country financial targets i.e. all aspects of P and L management for the country.

•Implement business plans and provide field reports to Regional Sales / Business Manager/EMERGING AFRICA Leader.

•Coordinate closely with Emerging Africa Leader to develop strong organizational culture and infrastructure to achieve synergies and operational excellence to support business strategies and growth

•People Management – provides day-to-day coaching to direct and indirect Medtronic representatives operating in the market with business and functional leaders.

•Lead the Country Team through excellence in coaching, target setting, sales coverage and market development activities

•Setting up the market access strategies for the region.

•Work with other Medtronic stakeholders

·Distributor Channel Management

·Responsible for managing the Country PL in collaboration with all Business unit head

·Finance and planning

•Regulatory Affair for getting product registration approval, reimbursement concerns and market access

•Market and customer management

·Create customer database and tracking Sales progress

·Market data information gathering

·Identify and develop KOL and its program

·Based on competitive information, develop counter-active strategy

•Manage existing and new products and the mix, drive key account management for that Country market

•Be a role model in actively promoting Medtronic’s Business Code of Conduct and turning itinto the company’s competitive advantage.

Interaction / Liaison: Frequent interaction with internal or external contacts at various organizational levels concerning ongoing operations or changes relating to processes or program. Leads briefings and meetings with internal and external contacts.

Operations Involvement / Direct Work Involvement: Provides direction, leadership and coaching to staff regarding tasks, projects and operations. May perform ongoing operational tasks especially in staff or professional groups.

Impact / Discretion: Provides measurable input regarding development of overall objectives. Ensures that ongoing operations, processes and programs are completed on schedule and within budget. Erroneous decisions, recommendations or failure to complete assignments would result in moderate impact on customers and/or objectives.

Guidance Given / Assignment Received: Significant direction and guidance is provided about assigned objectives and design. Some involvement in programs and process design is expected.
