2013 Scholarship For African Roman Catholics

Franciscan University of Steubenville is able to award two scholarships every five years for the Catholic clergy in active ministry in the African countries.

The scholarships will cover tuition and materials for Christian theology and ministry MA degree program available through distance learning Franciscan University. It is a degree in Catholic theology.

Goal

The purpose of the creation of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to African students studying in our program theology MA via distance education.

2013 Scholarship For African Roman Catholics

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to Catholic clergy, religious and laity, who are citizens of African countries and currently resides in Africa. They must also play an active role in the ministry and / or evangelism. In addition, the applicant must meet all the criteria for admission to the MA program in theology. Students who wish to apply for a scholarship should contact the Office of Distance Education.

Administration

University policies and procedures must be followed in the administration of this grant. The University will maintain its eligibility criteria and will be solely responsible for administering the fund scholarships.

Fellow

Beneficiaries may enroll in six courses of undergraduate theology, two philosophy courses Undergraduate and Graduate Theology twelve courses required for the MA in Theology and Christian Ministry. The requirement of residence on campus will be canceled.

Recipients must maintain part-time enrollment (two courses every six months) to maintain a “B” average or above (3.0 QPA), and complete the comprehensive examination within six months after completing required courses. In addition, extensions are not available for stock prices. If the recipient receives a “C” or below in more than one course, the scholarship may be revoked. Recipients must provide a valid mailing address for shipments via U.S. Postal Service. Required textbooks are the only printed materials provided.

The deadline for graduation can be adjusted if the recipient has completed the theology or philosophy course work that can be applied towards the substantive requirements of the first cycle.

2013 Scholarship For African Roman Catholics Type

This grant is not funded. It is updated through the budget office of distance education.

Selection Committee

A committee of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Academic Coordinator and Program Coordinator distance learning review useful information about the candidate and select students to receive scholarships. In the case where there are no qualified candidates for a given year, no scholarships will be awarded.
