Brief Description

Plan, Direct, Coordinate, Conduct and Evaluate Dangerous Goods Regulations and Cargo Training in Compliance with National and International Standards to Enhance Organizational and Individual performance for Kenya Airways staff and commercial customers in line with Aviation Industry Requirements.

 

Detailed Description

• Develop training aids i.e. slides, video clips, manuals, quick reference guides etc.

• Deliver programs within the Ground Services training calendar to ensure staff gain the knowledge and skills to perform their roles.

• Monitor & evaluate implementation of training to ensure effective transfer of skills to the workplace and identify further training needs.

• Interpret IATA/ICAO requirements and customize in line with the training needs.

• Keep up to date with changes in legislation, company policy, new methods and new subject matter.

• Develop a training schedule to facilitate effective planning of programs.

• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to enable smooth coordination of training.

• Maintain up to date and accurate training records to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company standards..

• Prepare reports on all trainings conducted to enable continuous evaluation of programs and facilitate decision making.

• Post-training activities – marking of scripts, analysing trainees feedback, preparing training results, printing and issuing of certificates.

• Certify qualified staff to ensure compliance with KQ and aviation standards and procedures.

• Support safety initiatives as a consultant in regard to area of specialization.

• Emphasise on safety standards of the aviation industry and highlight variances in practice from standards.

• Communicate the KQ safety management systems to staff to ensure SOPs are maintained across the KQ network.

• Provide accurate information to the business with regards to aircraft handling and loading issues.

• Audit compliance to ensure zero findings in all aspects of training.

• Give technical opinion in accident incident investigations, including panel hearings.

• IATA Diploma in Dangerous Goods Regulations

• IATA Instructional Skills for Dangerous Goods Instructors University graduate

• Two years of relevant instructor experience

• IATA Instructional Techniques

• IATA Instructional Design

• IATA Training Needs Analysis

• IATA DGR CAT 6 Initial

• IATA Professional Skills for DGR instructors

• Basic and Advanced cargo skills and procedures Courses.

• Live animals regulations

• Perishable cargo regulations

• Have a minimum of five (5) years in Cargo operations , 3 of which must be at a supervisory level , but must not haveless than two-(2) years of working experience in cargo operations, specifically in the handling and acceptance ofDangerous Goods or in Dangerous Goods safety operations
